The Shirks - A New Beginning on Social Media

We were happy to reunite with our friend Alan Frink to do a concert at Cottage In The Woods, in Damariscotta, Maine on June 1st. A great time was had by all!

Good news! Debbie had her right hip replaced on June 13th and is recovering nicely. She is now 50% bionic from the waist down. LOL. We are getting ready to resume our singing programs beginning on August 10th. Please see our concert schedule tab for the details.
We recently completed two new CD projects - This Is Amazing Grace and Hymns of the Church. Please see our Music tab for more info. Traveling to Tennessee while still recovering from knee replacement surgery, I had to use wheelchair service at the airport to get to the gates. Barry couldn't keep up so he ended up in a wheelchair too! :)
This summer I will be in surgery again to get my right hip replaced.
Debbie had a total knee replacement surgery on November 9, 2023 and is healing up nicely. She was able to do our last two concerts for the year at Dunn's Corner Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, Maine and the First Baptist Church of Woolwich, in Woolwich, Maine. Pastor Thomas Tuck was kind enough to record this concert live streaming on Facebook and it is attached above in hopes of blessing you during this Christmas Season.

To our Gospel Music-Loving Friends,
A New Beginning has decided to rebrand ourselves and call ourselves "The Shirks." The interesting thing that happened to influence this decision is when we recorded our latest CD, "Thankful and Blessed" in Goodlettsville, TN, the artwork designers sent us a CD cover proof that had "The Shirks" on it instead of "A New Beginning" and we REALLY LIKED it! Our ministry is still set up under A New Beginning Outreach Ministries but when we sing programs, we will introduce ourselves as "The Shirks."
